Driving

Seating configuration;   Seatbelts for two in the driving cab and seat-belts for four in the living area.

Baby / Booster Seat Fitting;  2 seats can be fitted on rear seats facing forward. Baby / Booster seats have to be pre-booked, otherwise cannot be guaranteed. Please advise age and weight of child.

Radio / Cassette;  Radio / CD player (Mercedes), Radio / Cassette player (Ford), speakers in driving cab and living area.

Cigarette Lighter;   12V which is suitable to charge up video camera batteries.

Fuel;  Diesel only;  68 litre tank / 15 gallons.

Fuel consumption;  Approximately 8km per litre / 18mpg. This does depend on how the vehicle is driven.

Diesel price in NZ;  60-90 cents per litre, depending on town of purchase.

Engine specifications;   2.2 litre turbo diesel (Mercedes),  2.5 litre turbo diesel (Ford).

Transmission;   Automatic / 6 speed manual tip-tronic (Mercedes),          5 speed manual only  (Ford).

Power equipment;  Power steering, and Power assisted Brakes.

Tyres;  Tyre pressure should be checked regularly. The recommended pressures are 65 psi for the front wheels and 65 psi for the Rear tyres. Note this vehicle has dual Rear wheels for stability.

Spare Tyre;  The spare tyre is located under the rear of the vehicle. External access only.

Tools;  The tool kit is located in the passenger seat foot-well area in the drivers cab.

Living Area

Sleeping Configuration;  Cabin,  2.10 x 1.20 m and one behind driver's cab 1.80 m x 1.05 m.

Fridge Freezer;  The fridge operates on 12V whilst driving and on 240V mains when plugged in at a camp ground.  The fridge will automatically switch over between the two supplies.  Fridge capacity, 55 litres.

Gas Cooker;  A 9 kg gas bottle. The gas bottle is located in the exterior compartment on the drivers side of the vehicle. Bottle has an 'ON/OFF' tap on it. Please ensure it is in 'OFF' position when not in use and when driving.

Microwave; Operates on 240V power only, so the Vehicle must be plugged into mains power to operate.

Bathroom facilities;   Hot and Cold pressurised Water Shower cubicle with separate hand basin and amenity cabinet.

Toilet;  Located in cubicle with shower.  Flush toilet waste goes into cassette holding tank which is accessed from exterior compartment door. Toilet is full of chemicals on pick-up of vehicle with a small complimentary supply. Toilet cassette holding tank must be flushed out and empty on drop-off.

Water heater;  Water heater works on gas and is operated by an internal switch. Water will be heated after approximately 15 minutes.

Fresh water tank;   Capacity is 85 litres / 19 gallons. The filler cap is located on the passenger side of the vehicle and marked "WATER" and the filler hose is in the wardrobe.

Grey water tank;   Holding tank for grey waste water generated from the shower and kitchen sink. Disposable at all camping grounds and dump sites. Holds 85 litres / 19 gallons grey water. Grey water hose is in the driver's side exterior compartment.

Lighting;  Interior lights operate both off 12V battery and 240V mains supply.

Air Conditioning / Heating;  Rear cabin  Air conditioning / Heating operates on 240V when plugged in at camp ground only.

Power Supply;   240V mains and 12V battery. The 240V mains power operates when the exterior power cable is plugged in at a camp ground. There are two 12V batteries, one for starting the engine, and the other for domestic 12V system. This system includes water pump and fridge. Batteries are recharged by engine alternator.

Storage;  Ample overhead cupboard storage, space under seats at rear of vehicle and along wall and hanging wardrobe. External locker space on driver's side of the vehicle. Additional luggage storage at Maui Branches.

Skylights;  Two in the roof of living area. Please  ensure  these  are closed  when  driving.

Fly Screens;   Placed on all windows in the living area of vehicle.

Flooring;  Easy to care for linoleum.

Internal Access;   Internal access between driver's cab and living area.

Exterior Access;  Side door with pull out doorstep. Ensure this is pushed in when driving.

All depots are open 7am – 6pm, closed on Christmas Day.
